LAND SALE TO HELP PAY FOR MATERNITY UNIT
A new multi-million pound maternity unit for Burnley and Pendle will be partly paid for by selling off land.
The new centre of excellence will be built on Casterton Avenue.
The plan is to knock down old houses and buildings at hospitals in Burnley and Rossendale and sell the land to developers.
The building's already been given the go ahead by the regional health authority.
It'll cost around 31 million to build the centre for women and children's health.
It's hoped they'll raise 8 million pounds from the sale of the land.
